Echinodorus 'Rose' (Rose Sword) is a stunning Amazon sword hybrid with broad, wavy leaves that emerge pink to bronze and mature into rich green with red-brown tones. This hardy, rosette-forming plant thrives in nutrient-rich substrate with low to medium light, making it an impressive midground or background centerpiece. Ideal for beginner to advanced aquascapers. CO₂ is optional; root tabs are recommended for best color and growth.
The Echinodorus 'Rose', commonly known as the Rose Sword, is a spectacular hybrid cultivar that brings a sophisticated color palette to the freshwater aquarium. A cross between Echinodorus horemanii 'Red' and Echinodorus horizontalis, this plant is famous for its "color-morphing" leaves.
Unlike standard green Amazon Swords, the Echinodorus 'Rose' provides a dynamic color contrast, breaking up the monotony often seen in planted tanks. It is a hardy survivor, making it perfect for hobbyists seeking high-impact aesthetics without the struggle of maintaining delicate red stem plants.
As a member of the Alismataceae family, Echinodorus 'Rose' is a heavy root feeder. Unlike stem plants, it pulls nutrients primarily from the substrate.
